Jesus didn’t mince words.
Throughout Jesus’ ministry his greatest enemy was largely unseen. Yet, when Satan did reveal himself Jesus sternly rebuked him and had very strong words for the rebellious angel.
Here is a brief collection of five powerful quotes from the Bible that highlight Jesus’ feelings towards the ultimate Deceiver and prove he is no match for the King of all creation.
Begone, Satan! for it is written, “You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.” Then the devil left him. (Matthew 4:10-11)
You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. (John 8:44)
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you.” (Luke 10:17-19)
[C]rying out with a loud voice, [the demoniac] said, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, do not torment me.” For he had said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” (Mark 5:7-8)
And whenever the unclean spirits beheld [Jesus], they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God.” (Mark 3:11)
