Want to sleep peacefully? Pray this prayer of the night

To recover inner peace and rest with heart united to God

My Father,
now that the voices are silent
and the cries are quenched,
here at the foot of the bed
my soul rises to You, to say:
I believe in You, I hope in You,
and I love You with all my strength,
glory to Thee , Sir!

I deposit in your hands the fatigue and the struggle,
the joys and disappointments of
this day that was left behind.
If my nerves betrayed me,
if selfish impulses overcame me,
I gave way to rancor or sorrow,
pardon, Lord!
Have pity on me.

If I have been unfaithful, I
have spoken words in vain,
if I let myself be carried away by impatience,
if I have been a thorn to somebody,
pardon Lord!

Tonight
I do not want to go to sleep
without feeling in my soul
the security of your mercy,
your sweet mercy
entirely free.

Sir! I thank you, my Father,
for you were the cool shadow
that covered me all this day.
I thank you because,
invisible, loving and engaging, you took care
of me as a mother,
in all those hours.

Sir! Around me
everything is already silence and calm.
Send the angel of peace to this house.
It relaxes my nerves,
soothes my spirit,
releases my tensions,
floods my being of silence and serenity.

Watch for me, dear Father,
as I surrender confidently to sleep ,
like a child
sleeping happily in your arms.
In thy Name, Lord, I will rest easy .

Amen.
